Thursday 6^th March saw the ladies from the Wharfedale CCC event meet up for our “Spring is in the air” event and with this recent spell of sunny weather it really does feel like we have said goodbye to winter and hello to spring! 

YUM! in Otley kindly let us use their stunning tea shop for our event and what a gem of a find it was! I have walked past it numerous times and never called in but it was so lovely, as were the owners too.  I really could gush about the interior all day but I’ll let the photos do the talking!

Even though the theme was Spring there was a definite trend of lemon cakes that came along. You really can’t beat a good lemon cake and everyone did their own twist on it. I opted for a plum sponge (will post the recipe soon) but I did enjoy eating one too many lemon cakes.

Our event was on 6pm and one of our members, Tina, only landed in from her holiday to Portugal at 4pm yet still found time to make a cake using lemons and oranges she brought from Portugal - that’s dedication for you. It was like sunshine in a cake!
