August… what a month… in some ways these past 4 weeks have
flown by but at the same time it feels like we have finally had a month that
went at a much slower pace even though it was jam packed.
I love our family photos this month, three were taken on
holiday in France and the other was taken at a wedding that we went to a couple
of weeks ago. The wedding was in such a beautiful setting and I do wish we
could have had photos taken with the rolling hills behind us but this snap was
taken when a friend from cake club popped by to get a glimpse of the bride and
asked to take our photo while we were stood in the car park. Never mind…. Me and
Mine is more about creating the memories, not the background of the photo. I do love the photo from the beach though - we are all covered in sand (Ethan in particular) and we had such a lovely day. We explored the beautiful town of Honfleur then walked down to the beach to let Ethan burn off some energy - that boy loves the sand!
This month:
We spent a week in
France exploring the beauty of Normandy
Ate too many French
pastries
Celebrated our second
wedding anniversary
I baked 4 trays of
brownies for my friend’s wedding
Celebrated the
marriage of two very dear friends at said wedding
Enjoyed a midweek
curry
Tom boarded and
insulated the loft (and fixed the minor issue of part of the ceiling falling
through)
Missed a friend’s son’s
naming day as Ethan was ill (boo!)
I left work early and
had two days in bed thanks to the lurgy
Visited Knowsley
Safari Park where the baboons decided to climb over our car!
Had a quick trip to
the Trafford Centre on our way home
Visited Tom’s Dad
Met the newlyweds for
brunch once they got home from honeymoon
Enjoyed a Bank Holiday
BBQ with my Mama crew, their husbands and babies
Went for a walk with
my bestie and her husband
Ethan and Tom enjoyed
some quality father son time with far too many trips out for breakfast and/or lunch
Looking back on that list we really have had a crazy month
but aren’t they the best kind? Tom has also loved being off for 6 weeks and
having that quality time with Ethan. Many dads don’t get that opportunity so he’s
been keeping me updated with photos while I’ve been at work.
At the moment September is empty apart from two work trips
down to London at the end of the month so I'm looking forward to some lazy weekends and maybe a spot of autumnal baking.
I’m not ready for summer to be over yet and even with that
nip in the air and leaves starting to fall, I’ll be clinging on to those last
few days of sunshine while they last.
As always I'll be linking up over at the lovely Lucy's Dear Beautiful blog. Make sure you check out all of the other family photos from this month.
